I’ve faced the winds of adversity

Some strong ones, I suppose;

But standing firm within my soul

Still, I am a rose.

There have been times when I needed rain

Times when I received too much;

There are those who plucked my petals

Blocked sunshine and such.

My roots are deep, so I grew strong

And more vibrant, I suppose;

So despite some lots gave to me

Still, I am a rose.
