We are constantly bombarded with images of the perfect body in magazines, TV and movies.. Many plus size women feel insecure and uncomfortable with their bodies.  A negative body image is characterized by a distorted perception of how we really look.  Loving yourself, no matter what size you are, is the key to developing a positive body image and learning to dress yourself in clothes that accentuate the positive and hide the negative.
Let’s be honest, most of us are not built like a supermodel.  We all have flaws, whether they be internal and external!  I have know women who on the outside look as if they stood in God’s line and received all the blessings in terms of looks and figure, yet were the most insecure women in the world.  I have also know women, who although not built like a supermodel, always carried themselves like they were God’s gift to the world.  It’s all in your Attitude.
Before you can start working on dressing the outside, learn to embrace the inside, flaws and all.  You can do this by:
1.    Focusing on your strengths and positive qualities.  What do you love most about your body?
2.   Stay away from negative people who constantly comment on your flaws.  Spend time with people who embrace you!
3.   Be fit and healthy know matter what your size!
4.  Be comfortable with your body.  Learn to love your body, no matter what the size!
You were made in the divine image of the Most High!  How can you not allow the world to see His most magnificent is all of its glory!
In our next article, we will talk about knowing your body type and dressing your body type.
