Kids across the U.S. are often unable to develop and use their imagination in the classroom, due to an increasing lack of access to, and investment in arts programming in schools. This is particularly impactful for Black students, who have experienced a 49% reduction in arts education.
That is why actress and mother, Kyla Pratt, has partnered with Popsicle and National Arts Education Associationto launch the Stick with Art! – a new contest to help bridge the arts gap in Title 1 schools nationwide. Kyla believes the arts are essential and is teaming up to champion imaginative play and learning within school classrooms and art programs across the nation.
Popsicle and Kyle are helping bridge the arts gap by partnering with the National Arts Education Association (NAEA) to champion imaginative play and learning within school classrooms and art programs across the nation.
Now through 12/18, Popsicle is inviting art teachers in Title 1 schools to participate in ‘Stick with Art!’ – an online art contest where teachers will share student Popsicle stick creations via Instagram for a chance to win money for art supplies and a grand prize of funding for their schools’ art department.

- Forty (40) winning teachers will receive $1,000 help support the cost of art supplies for their students, covering the average $750 teachers spend out of pocket each year on classroom supplies.
- Four (4) of the winning teachers will receive an additional $10,000 and one lucky teacher will receive an additional $20,000 for their schools’ art department—helping spark students’ imaginations, creativity and provide more equitable access to arts education by supporting a program-wide commitment to implement inclusive arts education for years to come
