Last weekend Kimora Lee Simmons and the JustFab team hosted the grand opening of their new flagship store at the Glendale Galleria Mall in California. This marks the first brick-and-mortar store for the brand since launching their subscription online retail website Justfabulous (turned Justfab.com) in 2010. Simmons along with co CEOs Don Ressler and Adam Goldenberg decided to make the move from purely an e-commerce subscription site to having a physical location to suit the needs of the patrons who enjoy the in-store retail experience. According to CEO Adam Goldenberg, owning a store will allow those who subscribed to the site the freedom to experience the look and feel of the items up close since there is a section of their 33 million subscribers (partially from the recent acquisition from rival website ShoeDazzle.com) who have yet to make an online purchase on the site. It is believed that the store will bridge the brand with those particular consumers. Women’s Wear Daily caught up with Goldenberg where he explained the idea behind the store saying: “There are some customers who sign up on the site, but before they make a purchase, they want to touch and feel the product. It is a real opportunity to convert members to actual buyers who have signed up, but haven’t yet made a purchase.” During the grand opening the JustFab team served champagne and desserts. They also had a DJ on hand for the celebration. They began the festivities with a invite only press party, then ended with a shopping event and meet and greet with Kimora and the JustFab staff. Just like the website the store will be selling shoes, handbags, denim, and accessories. Simmons was accompanied by her mother and three children Aoki, Ming and Kenzo.
