“I’m a Survivor”- Katrina “Bebe” Barlow is Living and Fighting Fabulously (LAFF)

You would never know by looking at her that Katrina “Bebe” Barlow (aka LAFF DIVA) recently finished chemo treatments for Breast Cancer this past June. This two time survivor of eight years, mother, daughter, business owner(owner of Salon’s on the Lake) and President of Women Entrepreneurs of America (Texas Chapter) received her first diagnosis at the age of 31 and has been going strong ever since- having never missed a day of work after receiving her diagnosis.  Out of her second bout with breast cancer, Katrina discovered her true purpose; to start a non-profit organization, Living and Fighting Fabulously, Inc. (LAFF).  LAFF’s mission is to bring awareness and support to women battling breast cancer, offering services that are focused on the needs of the survivor, such as specialized hair replacement services, makeovers, support groups and meetings.

With a heart filled with love, compassion and faith, Katrina refuses to give up and she consistently believes in God’s healing power.  Currently, she can be found holding various inspirational speaking engagements as well as traveling throughout Texas on a Breast Cancer Awareness Tour. The Tour features a fashion show along with local celebrity designers, Boutiques, friends and LAFF members speaking out and supporting Breast Cancer Awareness.  Keir “Fiya” Sylvester aka DJ Fat Alberta, who is CEO of Fiyaworks Entertainment, BET’s Comiview Comic and owner of Street 93.3 Radio is Katrina’s  friend and manager as well as one of the main supporters of the tour. Keir’s description of Katrina is, “Like a butterfly walking through the valley.”  These words ring so true of a LAFFing Diva who is Living and Fighting….Fabulously.
