Family gatherings, work parties and last minute shopping are what mostly consumes our time during the holidays. This results in us putting off going to the gym and working out. Throughout this time it’s important to stay active because the holidays are when we consume the most calories. Here are some ways that you can stay fit while still having fun.
Keep moving
Don’t let the cold weather stop you from staying active. Sitting inside watching TV and eating junk food isn’t good for your health. So put the chips down, sis. Being active can be as simple as walking your dog, going up and down the stairs, or doing yoga.
Hydrate
Your brain can confuse thirst with hunger sometimes. Drinking a glass of water before eating a meal can help lessen the amount of food you eat.

Keep exercising regularly
Don’t take a break from your regular workout routine, even if you are busy spending time with family and friends. A quick 30-minute workout in the morning or before you go to bed is the perfect way to stay toned through the holidays.
Get creative
Find fun things that you can do with the fam. Opt for more adventurous things and ditch your usual gym/cardio routine. Try going ice skating, for a hike, or for a walk in the city.
Treat yourself
Instead of indulging in unhealthy foods this season, treat yourself by buying some new gym clothes. This will give you motivation to keep going with your fitness goals and to stay active into the new year.
