Bronze Magazine sat down with Dr. Stribling to discuss just how women can build their businesses and what this all means to her.
Please give us a short introduction of yourself and describe what you do.
“I help women entrepreneurs, thought leaders, coaches, and speakers who lack confidence and guidance build a 6 figure and beyond coaching and speaking business online, from the kitchen table, so to speak.”
So, what made you decide to study or go into what you do now?
“When you said the word ‘study,’ I thought that it was funny because most people in the entrepreneurial world or even in corporate want to go back and get their degrees. And I did that thinking that it was going to really help me be an even better company or business owner, not just an entrepreneur. But it didn’t.”
“So, I would say the streets of hard knocks, taking my life experience and knowledge and helping other women was the thing that really helped me get into this because it was a part of my story. I didn’t want another woman to go through what I went through, especially when I started as a divorce coach and eventually came over to business coaching. “
What kind of impact do you feel you’ve made on black women in particular?
“Love that. It’s more about having an example. What I realized, even when I was starting, was I didn’t have an example that looked like me who I could reach out and touch. I love the Oprah, Michelle Obama and Viola Davis’ of the world but you can’t physically read, reach out and touch them. I wanted to become the person that I did not have in my life. So, the effect I believe I’ve had on black women in particular is giving them an example that you can come from nothing and have it all, everything that you want; the life, the lifestyle, and the relationships you’ve always dreamt up. “

How have you implemented your advice into your own life?
“I don’t give myself a lot of time to think about the negative things that are not going well. And I really don’t focus on what’s lacking. I always focus on what I learned from something.
How do you manage running your life coach business and being a mother?
“Well, honestly, my children are grown. They’re adults, but I started with one, then two. And I didn’t have a traditional job at the time. They both played football, so I would drive on a Friday night, leave for Friday Night Lights, that’s Friday night high school football, and then drive 12 hours to go to U of M University of Michigan where my older son played football, and I would be working with clients that day. But I did have boundaries for my children because I really wanted to focus on what it is that God gave me and what I was supposed to be doing.”
What goals do you have for yourself in the future?
“Number one is to have a television show on a major network. I think my message for women needs to be heard worldwide. My other goal is to generate $1,000,000 monthly. It’s one of my goals because I’m not around anyone in my immediate circle, honestly, that looks like me. Not a woman with my background, and not one that is really warring for the legacy of her family and for the other women that are out there.”
