America’s Next Top Model is soon to return on VH1 for season 23! Tyra Banks will still be involved as an executive producer, but will be sitting out on being a part of the judging panel. After the last season aired on the CW, everyone thought they lost the show forever, until VH1 picked it up!
ANTM is a reality show for young women, (and in some seasons men) to learn and compete for the title of Americas Top Model. Oftentimes the winners of the show get multiple endorsement deals with cosmetic companies, as well as spreads in high fashion magazines such as Vogue.
British singer Rita Ora will take Bank’s place as the main judge. Ora is not new to being a judge on a competition show, she was formerly a judge on U.K’s The Voice as well as The X Factor. Also, to judge on the new season of ANTM is model Ashley Graham, Hollywood stylist Law Roach, and Paper Magazine chief creative officer Drew Elliot.
Banks told USA Today what the judges will be looking for in the new season of ANTM, “It’s no longer just about having the highest cheekbones and best pout and the best hair,” Banks said. “My goal is to really get into these girls’ heads that I’m not looking for some successful model and I’m not looking for some social media star. I’m looking for both. I’m looking for a hybrid, because that’s where the world is.”
A premiere date is not yet set for cycle 23 of ANTM, but stay on the look out, for it’s rumored to be released for later on this year!
